Transit Services

Schmitty & Sons currently operates a diverse fleet of transit operations across the Twin Cities. We provide and maintain our transit services for Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA), City of Prior lake, City of Shakopee and the University of St. Thomas.

We are one of the fastest growing transit providers in the area. In 1998, our transit division opened with only two small buses. Now more than 12 years later we experienced continuing growth as we currently operate approximately 120 vehicles.

Schmitty & Sons is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service while also focusing on keeping passenger safety as our number one priority.

Minnesota Valley Transit Agency (MVTA) is a public transportation agency that provides fixed-route and demand-responsive bus services to several communities in the southern portion of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The service area currently includes the cities of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, and Rosemount in Dakota County; and the city of Savage in Scott County. MVTA provides service from these areas to key destinations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as the Mall of America in Bloomington

BlueXpress is a commuter transit operation for passengers in Scott County. This commuter operation is an express transit service into downtown Minneapolis. The park and ride locations in Prior Lake and Shakopee allow passengers to travel downtown in safe and timely manner. Schmitty & Sons operates and maintains the buses for the BlueXpress commuter line.
